About the Class
Writing a synopsis is something every selling writer must do.
But there is a lot of confusion about what editors want, how long they should
be and what to include in one.
In this workshop, multi-published author Katherine Garbera will
share her techniques learned from selling to over 15 editors at three different
houses. These techniques include:
• How to write a short synopsis focusing on high concept and hooks
• How to show character growth and back story in a way that keeps editors on the
edge of their seats
• How to catch an editor's attention with your opening hook
• How to sell on just a synopsis
• How to know what "red-flags" to leave out
These techniques are proven since Katherine writes full-time for
multiple publishers. This workshop guarantees to give hands-on advice and guidance
to both new and experienced writers. Katherine is a regular speaker at RWA regional
conferences and has given workshops and seminars on a wide area of topics that
cover craft, the writer’s life and the business of publishing.
