About the Class
Writing in the third person means gives readers a well-rounded
view of what's happening in your story. But changing point-of-view should be more
than just a change of pronouns. POV is a chance for the author to enhance character,
build suspense and weave their tale in a way that keeps readers turning the pages.
In this workshop, multi-published author Katherine Garbera will
share POV techniques that she employs every day as she writes both category and
single title romances. These techniques include:
• How and when and why to change POV
• How to make your hero sound like a real man
• How to use POV to effectively increase sexual tension
• How to decide who's POV is most important in a scene
These techniques are proven, as Katherine writes full time for
multiple publishers and has a great deal of experience in making her characters'
voices sound different. This workshop is guaranteed to give hands-on, usable advice
and guidance to both new and experienced writers. Katherine is a regular speaker
at RWA regional conferences and has given workshops and seminars on a wide area
of topics that cover craft, the writer’s life and the business of publishing.
