So… have I mentioned I have this anthology coming out soon? We’re having a little event to celebrate. Here’s the announcement:
From May 12 – 26, Michelle Buonfiglio of Romance: B(u)y the Book blog is hosting the purrfect contest—cute animals and fabulous prizes—to celebrate the upcoming release of Tails of Love. This Berkley anthology raises money for a no-kill animal shelter and features ten romantic stories by authors Lori Foster, Stella Cameron, Kate Angell, Dianne Castell, Ann Christopher, Marcia James, Donna MacMeans, Sarah McCarty, Patricia Sargeant and Sue-Ellen Welfonder. To join the extravaganza, simply snap a photo of your pet and visit the Romance: B(u)y the Book blog (http://romancebytheblog.blogspot.com/) during the two-week celebration for instructions on how to submit the photo for the drawing. The winners will be announced on May 27.
So whether your pet is furry, feathered or covered in scales, give it a shot at joining the TAILS OF LOVE Pet Gallery. Don’t miss this chance at barking rights and great prizes!
Fun, right? So be sure to enter!
In the meantime, Happy Mother’s Day to all! Commenters describing their ideal Mother’s Day (feel free to fantasize!) will be eligible to win a copy of Tails of Love at the end of the day.
You can skip to the end and leave a response. Pinging is currently not allowed.

I can remember when the kids were small I would tell them to please just give me one day without any bickering! Now that the oldest is away at college I’ve asked them to please just let us all spend the day together. A nice brunch and hopefully we can go see the new Xmen movie or if the weather is sunny, we’ll head out on the boat and picnic on the lake.

Since I cherish the time I spend with my daughters who are no longer at home we will be spending the day together. Eating lunch out and then walking through a lovely area with parks and shops.

My idea of a ideal Mother’s Day, would be to spend the day at the spa with a friend. Massages, manicure, pedicures, facials, and whatever else is thrown my way. Then to go out and have a nice dinner. Just a day away from the housework and things. Not to mention a hopeful gift from my family, like a gift card to my favorite bookstore.

Hmm… the ideal Mother’s Day? Let’s see… sleeping in; enjoying a late Sunday service with the whole family; then being left alone to enjoy an entire afternoon with my TBR. The family can return home at the end of the day with a yummy dinner we can enjoy together
Ahh….

Hi, Ann! I’m excited to be part of the TAILS OF LOVE anthology with you. And I look forward to the Pet Extravaganza on the Romance: B(u)y the Book blog.
I love the idea of people sending in photos of their favorite dogs, cats, horses, iguanas, goats, etc.
It should be a blast. And the prizes are great, too!

Hello Ann! TAILS OF LOVE is definitely novellas written from the heart. I was so pleased to be a part of such a fun and charitable anthology. Mother’s Day, I’m appreciative of a little down-time. We all need to exhale.

Mother’s Day is bittersweet these days as both my mother and my MIL have passed. Funny how you miss mailing those cards when there’s no one left. My ideal mother’s day is to surround myself with family and see what wonderful adults my children have grown to be. A little acknowledgment of my influence from them doesn’t hurt
especially if it comes at a nice restaurant  . But then I’ll have some quiet time to thank my mother and MIL for their influences as well.
I’m so honored to be included with you in the TAILS OF LOVE anthology. Can’t wait to read all the great stories by so many talented authors.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all the mothers out there!!!

No dishes, no laundry, and an old ER (with George Clooney) marathon all day…with bought out mexican food! PERFECT DAY!
May 8th, 2009 at 11:23 am
I’m not a mom yet!
BUT for my mom, I’ve bought her the movie “P.S. I love You” and a gift card to her favorite clothes store, Maurices. We’re gonna spend the day together, go out to eat, and hopefully it’ll be quiet and fun!
I’m an only child so Mother’s Day is a pretty big day for me!

Hi Ann! I’m also thrilled to be a part of the anthology. I love all animals, but am a tremendous dog lover most of all. My own four-legged sweetie is a Jack Russell and I’d love to have an entire house filled with rescue Jacks.
Sadly, that isn’t possible, so I’m really happy to be able to be able to help needy animals through being in Tails of Love.
It’s such a great cause!
I hope readers will be inspired to adopt a rescue pet or, if not, support their own local no-kill animal shelter.
An ideal Mother’s Day? I’d think a day of pampering would be nice. Women are such multi-taskers. We do it all, really. So I’d opt for peace and quiet, a pile of books, and, me being me, it wouldn’t be mid-May, but mid-autumn. I’d be sitting in a cozy chair before the fire, it’d be a chill, damp evening with wind howling round the eaves, and I’d have a delicious cup of hot chocolate to sip as I read.

I would love to have my 3 sons and their families here for the day – or longer – and everyone get along! But I will settle for long distance phone calls since they are scattered around the country.

PS — Speaking of animals … my own little Jack Russell is responsible for my typo above: writing ‘to be able’ twice and not catching it.
It is time for his afternoon walk and he’s making noises, getting all wriggling, and he’s resorted to laying down, head on his front paws, and is giving me The Look.
Needless to say, I started rushing to finish this post.
‘The Look’ gets me every time and I’m sure dog lovers everywhere know the look I mean.
So I’m out of here .. We’re off for a walk.
Go pets!

Hi Ann,
Some quiet time to read. No cooking or cleaning.
No emergencies. And chocolate for dessert!

Hi Ann,
My idea of a perfect Mother’s Day is to have a relaxing day and a nice dinner with my two beautiful children.

Hi Ann:
My mother loved orchids and we three kids got together to buy her a little spray each year. When she died, I gave her orchids and have never been able to like that particular kind since.
So–on a more cheerful note! The whispering that goes on between my adult children when they’re desperately trying to think of something to do for Mothers’ Day is hysterical. Inevitably, they start asking (ever so subtly, of course) what I would like to do. Having them care enough to go through these hoops is the best gift possible and, if possible, I love them even more for it. All I really want is to have them around me.
TAILS OF LOVE is a dream come true for me and I’m so grateful to be part of the project. Each story is so different and reflects the writer and her relationship with animals–the way she sees them and feels about them. Ten people who are all crazy about the furry ones.
My Papillon, Millie, is looking at me right now as she tries to time her “hideout” behind my office drapes. Now she’s in, which means her head, shoulders, and front feet are out of sight (she can’t see me and I obviously can’t see her) but the bottom, fluffy tail and back legs didn’t quite make it out of site.
Any minute now Mango the cat will show up to play with that fluffy tail . . . and the endless cat and dog game goes on
Happy Mothers’ Day,
Stella

Breakfast in bed followed by a day of shopping and then a massage would be perfect. Happy Mother’s Day.

For me it would be to even get a phone call from the 3 stepchildren who are long gone or a card. If they would only acknowledge(the 2 that stayed with their dad and I for a few years)the fact that I married their dad after their mom passed away and that I looked after them and their dad and we’ve been together 20 yrs. this July. The boys acknowledge their mother-in-laws more than they do me and I even cooked, cleaned, helped with homework, etc. etc.

I would love to spend the day with just my two daughters and my 86 year old mother (it never happens because there’s too many other people in the mix).
May 8th, 2009 at 5:22 pm
I would love to spend the day with my mom, but unfortunately, she lives about 2,000 miles away. As a result, we’ve decided we’ll celebrate all birthdays and holidays in one big bang when I get up north to visit her.
I’m a mom to a couple feline fur babies, so I’ll spend the day with them.

Chey, you’ve won! Send your address to me via my site, and I’ll send you a copy of TOL (as soon as my author copies arrive).
Thanks so much for the pet and mother stories. I forgot to mention that I’m a huge fan of THE DOG WHISPERER (although we have cats) and I especially love to see the magic Cesar works with some of the rescue dogs.
Happy Mother’s Day!
See you next time!

My ideal mothers day would be to wake up in the morning late with my husband severing my breakfast in bad and clean up the mess. I wouldn’t have to do anything all day but read. Then in the evening my husband would take me out to a nice place for dinner! This would be the perfect mother’s day.
May 8th, 2009 at 8:44 pm
My ideal mother’s day would be going for a swim with just my BF and then dinner at a Tapas restaurant. The night would end with a delightful bubble bath!

Hi, Ann! Wow! What a party. I’m looking forward to seeing you and the other anthology partner authors at Lori Foster & Dianne Castell’s Get Together in June.
Enjoy Mother’s Day!

Hi Ann! I’d love to do something by the lake even a picnic with my kids! They are older now but I think they too would love out. Its warming up! And I love the comfort of watching the boats and reading under the tree and more!

Just let me read a book in peace!
May 9th, 2009 at 3:36 am
Happy Mother’s Day to one and all.
My ideal Mother’s Day would be a day with no obligations, no chores, no aches or pains, no complaints and plenty of pampering. A day where everything goes just my way and everyone’s there to make me smile and laugh.
May 9th, 2009 at 6:40 am
A perfect Mother’s Day would be to sleep late and then wake up to breakfast prepared by my husband. I would then go shopping with my daughter and granddaughter and, of course, enjoy a relaxing and fun lunch. Afterwards, the whole family would go out for dinner and then in the evening my husband and I would relax with a good movie and some ‘us’ time before calling it a night.

Congrats Chey on your win!
May 9th, 2009 at 10:02 pm
My ideal Mother’s Day would be to spend it at home with my family. Someone other than me would not only make dinner but plan and purchase all the items needed for said dinner. I would be able to spend the day reading and enjoying my family.
I hope that all the Moms out there have and wonderful Mother’s Day and that everyone else has a great weekend.
