The Writing Life

Karen Kelley

Morning Everyone,

I love being a writer.  I used to write strictly by the seat of my pants.  I knew the beginning, the middle and the ending.  The ending was easy: they lived happily ever after.  har-har

I’ve learned over the years that I have more slow times writing that way so I’ve begun to plot things out a little more.  It’s made my writing a lot easier.  So, if you’re a writer, it never hurts to try new things.

I had an “oh wow” moment the other day.  Something just popped into my head, a twist that blew me away.  That’s why I like being a writer, I continually surprise myself   I hope I surprise the reader as well.

I found out a couple of days ago Double Dating With The Dead took 3rd place in the Prism contest.  I thought that was so cool.

I’ll be signing books at Borders, 1601 Preston Road, Plano Texas from 2-4pm this Saturday with a whole host of authors including the fabulous Sherrilyn Kenyon.  There are 26 authors all total.  Partayyyy!      I hope to see some of you there!

Hugs,

Karen Kelley

  2. How fabulous, Karen! It’s terrific that you’re growing and evolving as a writer, and in the meantime, we’re loving to read what you write :) Too bad I’m not going to be near Texas this Saturday–have a wonderful time!
