Nocturnal

Vivi Anna

I haven’t been able to sleep well lately. In the past week, the earliest I’ve been able to close my eyes has been around one or two in the a.m. There’re a number of reasons for my problem I know. The first is I’m working on a new book and it’s constantly bugging me. I also just through my AA’s for Veiled Truth that’s releasing in October and those have been bugging me. I’m worried about the book. Worried about reader reception. And lastly I haven’t been able to find a good book to read. I always read before I go to bed. And for the past week or so I haven’t found anything to keep my interest.

So, happy day when the doorbell rang and the postman handed me a small box of books that I ordered off of Amazon last week. Yeah!!! Now I have four glorious books that I KNOW will keep my attention and make me happy. These authors are like my chocolate.

First up is:
Simon Green - I’m reading Hex in the City right now. And from the first page I knew I’d be hooked.

Lilith Saintcrow - Saint City Sinners - Finally I can read the last two books in the series. My bookstore would never get this title in. So I gave up asking them to order it and ordered it from Amazon.

Carrie Vaughn - Kitty Goes to Washington - I just recently got into Kitty’s series. But I’m hooked and can’t wait to read this one.

And last and certainly not least…the scrumptous dark chocolate…Kim Harrison - The Outlaw Demon Wails. Kim is the only author I’ll buy in hardcover. And I’m saving this one for summer reading. The book to sit outside with and soak up the sun.

Do you have authors that are like chocolate to you? The one sweet decadent treat that always makes you happy?

  1. Kim Harrison is one of my favorite hardcover buys too, plus my other big treats are- Charlaine Harris-her Sookie Stackhouse series, Janet Evanovich, Lora Leigh, and LKH.

  2. I completely agree about Kim Harrison. I would add Sherrilyn Kenyon, Stephanie Tyler, Larrisa Ione, Jayne Ann Krentz and Susan Elizabeth Phillips to that list.

  7. I read Shiloh Walker’s “THrough The Veil” with a kiss-ass heroine. I know I read stuff that you don’t care for. How about the Black Jewels trilogy by Anne Bishop? Have you ever read them? I’m currently doing a re-read. Love these books.
