Off to Romantic Times Booklovers Convention - Pittsburgh!

Myla Jackson

That’s right. As you read this, I’ll be on my way to the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention in Pittsburgh (not Kansas, but Pensylvania). Woohooo!!! I haven’t been to an RT convention since it was in St. Louis. Can’t wait! All the writers, hunky men, readers, hunky men, industry professionals, hunky men and did I mention…hunky men! That’s right, they announce the winner of the Mr. Romance contest. It should be a lot of fun. I remember the first book-related conference I ever went to was an RT conference. It totally ruined me for all other conferences. What other conference can you go to, see all your favorite authors, talk to you die-hard reader fans, pinch the cheeks of all the good-looking cover models and dance, dance, dance!?!

I’m so ready for the dancing part. I get to dance only when I go to RT conferences and sometimes at the Romance Writers of America conference if I go to the Harlequin party (now that’s a fun party). Did I mention I love dancing? Oh, and at RT they have costume balls. Not that I’m taking much in the way of costumes this year. I have in the past though. It’s a lot of fun to see what everyone wears.

Anyway, I’m jotting this down in a hurry because I have to get going! I’m going to RT! Woohooo!!! Hope to see some of you there!

Oh, and I noticed my sister, Delilah Devlin already plugged our new book coming out at the end of this month. If you’re looking for sexy historical romance, check out Wild, Wild Women of the West II!!

Now back to the dancing part…So really…is it just me? Am I the only one who loves to dance?

Do you love dancing?

How long has it been since you’ve been out dancing?

Are you in a relationship with a man who’d rather go for a rootcanal than dance? I  mean really!

  1. Have a great time at RT. Wish we all could be there.

I love to dance, but hubbie does not. He is a homebody and I have to pry is butt off of the couch to get him to do anything. LOL I can’t really complain because he does so much for me, but really would one night of gettin’ our groove on kill him.

  2. My husband will stand behind me/in front of me while I dance, but he doesn’t actually move much. Haha. At least he tries. Sort of. Although it’s been ages since we’ve gone to a concert or club. Three years, maybe. Gah. We need to get out more!

Have fun at RT! *so jealous*

  4. I have absolutely no dancing talent, so I avoid it in public. In fact, I’m the one who would prefer the rootcanal.

  5. I like to dance, but like Jennifer K, not fit for public consumption… And my husband took ball-room dancing lessons with me for a short period of time, which is testament to how much he loves me because he stated beforehand that he’d sooner pee in public than dance…

  6. I love to go dancing, but I do sometimes get very self-conscious and I need to down some drinks before I loosen up.

  7. I would love to dance but I guess my dancing days are over. I have health issures and my husband doesn’t like to dance. I still remember how much fun it was.

  9. I love to dance and can follow a good leader in any style of dance. DH can’t dance, doesn’t like it but did try it for my sake when we were dating. We were in New Mexico and I enjoyed going to a local bar where the country-western dance teachers liked to hang out and dance for fun. So DH took lessons. Not a pretty sight. *sigh* He was worth giving up the dancing for, though.
