Music to Love By

Vivi Anna

Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of music while I write which is unusual for me. Most times it has to be dead quiet for me to be able to channel some good words. But I’ve been in a funk and needed something to jump start my brain…and to be honest my body.

Music just happened to do that for me. Except it hasn’t been just any old music. It has to be music to get down by…if you know what I mean. Those songs that get all the juices pumpin’.

Some songs that I really like that rev me up so to speak…

Nickelback – Figured You Out

I like your pants around your feet
And I like the dirt that’s on your knees
And I like the way you still say please
While your looking up at me
You’re like my favourite damn disease

Finger Eleven - Paralyzer

Well I’m not paralyzed
But, I seem to be struck by you
I want to make you move
Because you’re standing still
If your body matches
What your eyes can do
You’ll probably move right through
Me on my way to you

Rihanna – Don’t Stop the Music

Do you know what you started
I just came here to party
But now we’re rockin on the dancefloor
Acting naughty
Your hands around my waist
Just let the music play
We’re hand in hand
Chest to chest
And now we’re face to face

And my ultimate favorite lately is by Canadian songtress Cory Lee.

Cory Lee - The Naughty Song lyrics

Gotta get you out of my mind
Gotta get you into my life

I know that your down
But the way you watchin’ me
Your takin’ words away and
I can hardly speak
There’s just room for two
In my fantasy
So baby lose your crew
And come away with me

Turn down the lights and light up the party
I got the ride and you got the naughty
Leave your boys and your girls tonight
Come home to me ASAP
Turn down the lights and light up the party
I got the time and you got the body
Leave your boys and your girls tonight
Come home to me ASAP

Tonight’s the night
And it’s only just begun
All the boys and the girls that wanna f*** tonight
Gotta turn the naughty on (x2)

I like what you say
By the way you rock your shows
And the way you wear your smile
Got me really diggin you
Oh, this bump and grind
Makes everyone afraid
Let’s get out of sight
Baby run away with me

Turn down the lights and light up the party
I got the ride and you got the naughty
Leave your boys and your girls tonight
Come home to me ASAP
Turn down the lights and light up the party
I got the time and you got the body
Leave your boys and your girls tonight
Come home to me ASAP

Tonight’s the night
And it’s only just begun
All the boys and the girls that wanna f*** tonight
Gotta turn the naughty on (x2)

Gotta get you out of my mind
Gotta get you out of my head
Gotta get you into my life
Gotta get you in my bed
(x2)

Turn down the lights and light up the party
I got the ride and you got the naughty
Leave your boys and your girls tonight
Come home to me ASAP

Tonight’s the night
And it’s only just begun
All the boys and the girls that wanna f*** tonight
Gotta turn the naughty on (x2)

  7. I like a lot of songs by Ingrid Michaelson - so glad she’s finally on the radio. “Marry Me” by St. Vincent, Imogen Heap/Frou Frou are all good “chil” music to study to. I also like “Knock Em Out” by Lily Allen - “I Don’t Feel Like Dancing” by the Scissor Sisters… - which makes me want to dance :) I’m almost constantly listening to music

  8. I love Paralyzer (and the whole cd is good) I also like A Little More You by Little Big Town(another very good cd) and such a sexy song. I also love to listen to anything by Maroon 5.

  9. Lately “Animal I have become” by Three Day’s Grace has been getting me going. I’m not sure why; it’s not exactly a sexy song. It’s more desperate than that. No one can help him, but he’s still begging for help.

But anyway, my long time favorite, down an’ dirty song is Control, by Puddle of Mudd:

    I can’t control you
    You can’t control me
    I need to feel you
So why’s it involve…you and me..

I love the way you look at me
I love the way you smack my ass
I love the dirty things you do
    I have control of you

by Lorelie on March 28th, 2008 at 12:30 pm

  10. Ooo, Lorelie, I love that song too.

by Vivi Anna on March 28th, 2008 at 1:04 pm

  11. I can’t resist any kind of dirty talk so here goes.

John Cougar Melloncamp’s Hurt So Good.

Sink your teeth right through my bones, baby
Lets see what we can do
Come on and make it a

    Chorus:
    Hurt so good
Come on baby make it hurt so good
Sometimes love dont feel like it should
You make it hurt so good

Not dirty enough? I know. Sigh. I would post the lyrics for Bob Marley’s Kinky Reggae, but the words are a little too weird. “She had brown sugar all over her booga-wooga,” for instance, and “he had candy tar on his chocolate bar.” Kinky, or just sticky?
