Sorry this is a little slow going up guys. I thought I’d done this blog already, but it was another blog I’d done ahead of time and not this one. So here we go.
Wow, it’s been a busy week for me. Appointments, working on my new historical, doing research for my historical. Today it’s supposed to snow, so I’m having one of those “I’d rather be curled up with a good book feelings.” So I’m doing a bit of a cop out today. My brain is ready for some TLC, so I thought I’d post this Friday Eight I designed today just for you. Share with me eight things you’d rather do today, and one special winner will get a free download of my Cerridwen Press contemporary romance, MEANT TO BE. Here we go…I’d rather…
I’d rather be in a mountain cabin curled by the fire with my hubby.
I’d rather be in a mountain cabin in a hot tub with my hubby.
I’d rather curl up on the couch with a romantic thriller.
I’d rather visit with some of my best friends…those with a truly wicked sense of humor.
I’d rather be sitting in a chair sipping a glass of Columbia Crest merlot.
I’d rather be watching one of my favorite romance movies of all time, Paperback Hero staring Hugh Jackman.
Or I’d rather watch Dear Frankie staring Gerard Butler.
I’d rather watch a good soccer game…or as I heard it said in one of my favorite spooky movies…full on footy war.
Okay, what would you rather be doing today? Come on, fess up and it could mean a free book for you!

What would I rather be doing today? I’d rather be sitting in my beach house on the Gulf Coast of Florida and watching the waves hit the shore. Of course I’m working on my next NYT bestseller and trying to keep my tall, dark and delicious boy toy at bay long enough to finish an important scene.
Is any of this likely to happen? Heck no! No beach house in Florida, doubt the NYT bestseller will happen in this lifetime, and sadly there’s no boy toy, tall, short or otherwise.
Have a great day, Denise.

I’d rather be in another place and time - relationship woes
I’d rather be curled in my honey’s arms enjoying the sound of his heartbeat
I’d rather be on a destered island with a tropical drink in my hand and good-looking half dressed men catering to me
I’d rather have a root canal than deal with the women I work with
I’d rather be enjoying myself at the spa than sitting here doing nothing
I’d rather be horseback riding along the coast
I’d rather be swimming under a breathtaking waterfall
More than anything…I’d rather be curled up on my couch with a blanket, hot drink, and a good romance novel…….
Have a blessed and beautiful day, Denise

I’m at work right now, so I’d rather be just about anyplace else!
I’d rather be stretched out on the loveseat for a nap.
I’d rather be shopping with my daughters.
I’d rather be antiquing with my hubby.
I’d rather be spending quiet time with my mother.
I’d rather be making bread.
I’d rather be sitting in my sunroom (with the sun shining, please) with a good book.
I’d rather be drinking a cold beer with my best friend.
I’d rather be playing on the computer all day rather than working on it!
Have a great weekend!

I’d rather be somewhere a bit warmer - I’m sooooooooooo tired of these below zero temps!
February 15th, 2008 at 11:00 am
Denise, thanks for the movie recs–someone else recently recommended Dear Frankie! *putting on the rental list*
Hmm… as for today,
I’d rather be curled up with a great book (and no interruptions!)
I’d rather be enjoying a fabulous massage
I’d rather be taking a nap
I’d rather be opening a fresh box of chocolate
I’d rather be going back to dance class
I’d rather be browsing at the bookstore
I’d rather be looking forward to a special night out at a restaurant
I’d rather have a live-in housekeeper
Oh well! Back to the laundry ;) Thanks for the fun daydreaming today!

I’m exactly where I want to be: at home, alone, writing. But I’d rather be…
Feeling well (I hurt my back this week and ouch it still hurts)
Starting a new book than revising my current project
This is so boring I can’t believe I’m going to post it. Must be the meds I’m on.

Marie-Nicole,
Hi there! Hey, I’m just glad to hear you’re working hard on the next novel. That’s always good news. Write about those boy toys!

MK,
Well, I can certainly sympathize on the work situation. I’ve had those feelings myself before, too. I’m really blessed, though, to have worked since ‘96 as a full time author. So I don’t have some of those issues on a regular basis. :)
The waterfall sounds heavenly!!! Here’s wishing you some curl up on the couch time with a good book.

Laurie,
Oh, antiquing!!! I haven’t done that since I lived in England. And you know what, I only came back with one antique. A fan shaped mirror that’s on my fireplace mantle right now.

Karen B,
Today we’ve managed to have snow, then rain, then snow, then rain, heavy duty wind and a tiny bit of thunder. Now all of that is stopped. Who knows what’ll do next.

 Fedora,
Hey, glad to hear you’re picking up Dear Frankie. Adore that movie!!!! And of course, Gerard Butler is a good part of that. By the way, he’s in a movie coming up called NIM’S ISLAND with Jodie Foster that looks really funny. Can’t wait to see it!

Since we’ve had nothing but snow and cold weather here in Michigan, I’d rather be someplace warm and sunny…doing ANYTHING else!
Can’t wait ’til summer gets here. :)

I’m off work today and home writing so I’m doing what I’d rather be doing.
February 15th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
I just got off work a little bit ago, and there are a pile of books waiting for me to read so that is what I am going to do today and all this weekend!!!
Hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day
February 15th, 2008 at 2:02 pm
I’d rather
have a pajama day
be watching Lost on dvd
be curled up with a good book
be looking forward to a spa weekend
hire a cleaning crew to clean my house
February 15th, 2008 at 4:34 pm
Hi Denise,
I *love* Dear Frankie! I watched it in college- not sure why - I think I was on a Gerard Butler kick. (I’d watch one movie, watch the previews, and go from there.) Here’s my list!
I’d rather not go to jail today. (Too bad that already happened.)
I’d rather not have to be at school by 7: 30 (I was late) and only get 3 hours of sleep.
I’d rather have no classes (forever would be nice too).
I’d rather be traveling across Europe in style.
I’d rather be somewhere warm, where I can feel my toes, and nose.
I’d rather be able to actually relax, rather than procrastinating and avoiding my work.
I’d rather be drinking Chocolate Espresso Bellini’s, not water.
I’d rather have chocolate in the house, even though it’d mean never shedding these extra pounds!
Have a great weekend!
February 15th, 2008 at 4:54 pm
I’d rather be 50 pounds lighter.
I’d rather be single (sometimes).
I’d rather be in Vegas at the high roller’s table.
I’d rather be eating jerk shrip at Cheesecake Factory.
I’d rather be eating cheesecake and not gaining weight at Cheesecake Factory.
I’d rather be sleeping.
I’d rather be touring Europe…ALONE!
I’d rather not have piles of work to do!
I’d rather not have to clean my house every Friday just to have my kid’s and husband come home to muck it up!
February 15th, 2008 at 5:00 pm
I’d rather be….
1. winning the lottery
2. buying books
3. relaxing at Barnes & Noble
4. eating pizza
5. watching Malcolm in the Middle first season DVD (just ordered it)
6. going to the RWA convention
7. eating chocolate
8. in an experiment to make me the smartest person in the world so I can do world domination. Maw-ha-ha-ha
Hope you have a great and fun weekend.

Carol,
I’ll admit I’m one of those really weird people who enjoys fall and winter better than summer. On the other hand, I’m not in a region that gets much snow, so that makes it easier for me to say.

I’m seriously considering doing some major reading this weekend. Maybe some writing, but definitely some reading.

Cathy,
Oh yes to the cleaning crew. That sounds heavenly. I’m looking at the dust bunnies around my house and cringing.

JSL,
That’s one heck of a list you managed to accumulate there and unique, too! I think we should start a Gerard Butler club.

I’d rather be lying on a warm beach reading a really hot book!
I’d rather be sitting in a hot tub with an even hotter guy!
I’d rather be sitting down to a romantic dinner with the man I let get away!
February 15th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
Denise - haha, sounds good! I’d be all for that. I take a lot of surveys, and one was to determine how the preview for 300 should go, and I distinctly remember raving about the movie b/c a) it was about the Spartans and the battle of Battle of Thermopylae, and b) Gerard Butler stars in it
February 16th, 2008 at 2:39 pm
I was away on vacation yesterday and sick. So I would have rather felt better. Flew home today and was fine.
