Valentines Day!

Myla Jackson

Oh lucky me! I get to blog on Valentines Day!! I really think women put more significance on the day of love than men. And woe be upon the men in their lives who don’t treat it with the same respect! Why is it that women are more into romance than men? Making note to self to read the book Women are from Venus, Men are from Mars. We’re obviously wired differently. It’s incredible how differently. Granted there are some romantic men still out there, but it can’t be natural for them to be romantic. Face it, there are so many of them that forget birthdays, Valentines Day and anniversaries. I really think they’re just not wired to remember that it’s important.

My husband and I get so caught up in the rush of life we look at each other on our anniversary and say…”is it our anniversary? Damn!” We’ve gotten to the point that we tell each other not to get anything for Valentines Day. We did that this year and I was completely okay with that. I have a lot going on with my writing and I’m about to go out of town for a couple weeks, so that took the pressure off for buying a gift. Then what does he do? He brings home flowers! Argh! Now I feel like a complete slug. A complete slug with flowers….Ahhhhh…..It was a nice gesture and, yes, I’m happy he did it. Still, I only got him a gift pack of M&Ms. Slug! (bangs head on keyboard)

What about you? What are your favorite Valentines Day stories? If they aren’t yours, do you have one that has touched you?

Or is there a Valentine Wish you’d like to see fulfilled? What is your dream Valentines Day?

  2. Happy Valentine’s Day, Myla. I don’t have any great stories. My hubbie and I exchange with our kids.

My perfect Valentine’s would be a bouquet of tulips, Chinese for dinner (I had that tonight), and my husband all to myself.

  3. The best Valentine’s Day story I have is one year my husband and I exchanged the exact same card. You know when you find that one card and realize it’s exactly right? Well, apparently we both thought the same way when we each saw the card in the store.
