Hot Covers

Sasha White

SEXY DEVIL is releasing at the end of this month, and I’m super excited. I’ve had hot covers before, but this one…this one is definitely the best.

I’ve been getting comments and emails about the cover from booksellers since it went out in my first mailing months ago. I’ve hade more requests for ARC’s and more readers feedback on this book than any other, already.

And I have to say, the guy on the cover is exactly how I imagined Angelo, the hero in the second story. Yes, the second story. Sexy Devil is a single author anthology…but *I* think it’s special.

First of all instead of three novellas, there are only two, and one is regular length, but the second story is more category length. And the second story starts exactly where the first one leaves off, so it reads like a single title. However, they are two different stories for a reson. First, THE DEVIL INSIDE was previously published as an eBook almost four years ago. It has been re-edited and expanded a bit, but some readers may have read it already.

The thing is, when I wrote TDI, I knew I wanted to do a sequel. The main character’s brother (Angelo) showed up, and he really needed his own story. But right around that time was when I sold my first book to NY, and my third fourth and fifth sales happened rapidly after. I got too busy and the story kept getting backburnered.
Then I made the time, and I finally got to write Angelo’s story.

I believe everything happens for a reason, and there was a reason I couldn’t write the sequel when I first wanted to. I simply wasn’t ready for it. DEVIL’s JEWEL takes the story deper into the paranormal, and adds a bit of a suspense twist as well. I thoroughly enjoyed writing it, and I can’t wait to see if readers enjoy it as much as I did.

Surrender to Sasha White’s sensual world, where red-hot passions simmer—and desires are unleashed with sinfully wicked pleasure…
No one can resist the spell of a …SEXY DEVIL
“The Devil Inside”
Workaholic Caleb Mann used to think blind dates were a waste of time, but when his ex-girlfriend calls him boring in bed, Caleb becomes bent on changing his image - fast. And fast is what he gets when he barely knows his date’s name, but he can’t stop fantasizing about replacing the sleek motorcycle between her firm thighs and letting her ride him all night long…
“Devil’s Jewel”
Ex-soldier and psychic hunter Angelo Devlin has seen evil first-hand. He knows how perilous his assignments can be, and he doesn’t welcome outside help, which makes his run-in with Jewel Kattalis all the more infuriating. But instead of sending her away, he wants to grab her, take her, and tease every inch of her beautiful body. This woman may be more dangerous than any mission he’s ever been on before…

  1. Steamy book covers are definitely enticing, but the important thing is that you are intrigued by the story. That said, the book cover is usually the first thing that captures your interest and will make you pick it up.

  2. I would definitely buy your book with that cover. Yummy! I like covers that show a sexy guy on them and ones that show a couple on them. Covers are what usually draws me to look at the book. If I like the blurb on the back, I will buy it. Sexy Devil sounds great and that is one sexy devil on the cover. lol.

  3. An eye-catching cover will certainly have me reaching for it if I am browsing through a bookstore. This one would certainly qualify. That said, if I find a cover to be too explicit, then I am uncomfortable about picking up the book in a busy store. But that is just me…and the definition of explicit is not really set, some the the covers are incredibly sexy but I don’t bat an eyelash about holding it in my hot little hands whereas others have me looking online instead.

  4. Wow! What a hot cover! I’d just have to hide this one to be read only when the kiddies are sleeping. I don’t think I have a preference and would pretty much buy anything that looks interesting!

  5. HOT!!! HOT!!! HOT!!! COVER! I love it!!!

  6. Um, that cover! Whew, I would definitely pick up Sexy Devil with that cover. Okay, so I would pick it up anyway because I know and love your writing style. Still, I think even if that cover was on the book of an author that I was unfamiliar with, I would at least take a look at the blurb based on that. I mostly like a cover that represents the book well and gives you a feel for the book. If it’s an author I know, it won’t make as much difference because I’ll buy the book even if the cover is crap. For a new-to -me author it can make a world of difference, because a good cover can entice me to pick up the book and possibly buy it.

  7. Hey Sasha,

Great post and good question. WoW! I love your cover. You do have very sexy covers love them and this one is so hot & sexy. The guy has a very sexy chest ;)

For me I like all different covers depends on the genre of the books. For erotic books I love hot & sexy covers with eather a couple on it or a very sexy guy ;) Chicklit books I like the very pretty ones. It just depends on the genre for me. I love very nice covers but it doesn’t always have to about the cover. Sometimes it does and then I read the blurb to see if I want the book.

  8. I agree with y’all abotu some covers being too much. I know this guys pants are pretty low, yet I don;t find it too much. I think because of the sort of curls of smoke at the bottom. ANd the way his head is ducked. He’s not shy, but it’s not like he’s posing either.

And I like the wispy smoke to sort of give it that paranormal feel. The book isn’t heavily paranormal, in fact, the first story is very little. Just that the heroine is psychic. But the second story intorduces new elements to a contemporary world. I love paranormal sotries where the world is our normal every day world, but paranormal things happen… make sense?

  9. WOW! I love that cover! I would pick up your book just to get a better look at that hottie. I like covers with people on them more than those with caricatures. A hot guy is always a plus. ;-)

  10. What a cover! SEXY!!! Sounds like a great book.

  11. What makes me pick up a book, something exactly like Sexy Devil! (HOT)

by Teresa W. on November 5th, 2007 at 1:58 pm

  12. Wow! That is a hot, sexy cover!!! I must admit I look twice at a book with a cover this sexy and would then read the blurb on the book or inside to find out more about the story. There are certain authors I always read, but am always looking to add to my list of authors and novels to buy and read.

by Shari C on November 5th, 2007 at 3:21 pm

  13. That is really a very sexy cover. I don’t buy very many books by cover, but this one may be an exception.

by Estella on November 5th, 2007 at 3:34 pm

  14. Oh my! What a cover! I’m sure the book is just as hot. I’m adding it to my shopping list.

by Christy H. on November 5th, 2007 at 3:58 pm

  15. Hi Sasha, yes that is one very beautiful cover. What I really love about it is that it gives you “everything” yet not really. You can see the gorgeous man’s face, but only in a profile not straight on so you’re left wondering what it fully looks like but one knows it’s probably very very nice… and as for his lower half….well there’s enough tease to make your imagination just take over very happily! Will you get a chance to meet the cover model in person? I will be very happy for you (plus a little bit jealous…) In general, I am drawn to covers with models/persons that I personally would consider attractive. There are certain looks that appeal to me (eg. dark haired) so if an author is not familiar to me but the cover has models that have what I like, I will at least pick up the book to admire the cover… then maybe read the back cover… and so on.

  16. This one definitely catches my eye. My favorites tend to be photo work, especially sensual covers. A sensual cover just sets the tone for a sensual love story. My only problem is when the cover models don’t match the storyline.

by Cathy M on November 5th, 2007 at 4:40 pm

  17. That’s one hot cover. I’d buy just on that alone. But the blurb has to be interesting also. They sound great!

by Stacy S on November 5th, 2007 at 5:00 pm

  18. I like good, clean covers that don’t look like I could do a better one at home. (Sorry, but some usually smaller publishers have these fuzzy covers with a mess of fonts and floating heads or whatnot that don’t add anything good to the book.)

And by “clean” I mean the design. I don’t have kids so I don’t have to worry about what kind of covers I bring home. But a lot of skin or even models isn’t a requirement. I like if the cover fits the story, but it doesn’t have to reflect the “hotness”. Some hate cartoon covers, but I think they’re just fine for eg. light contemporary reads. WYSIWYG.

But all in all, it’s often the author name that makes me pull out the book (as I usually just see the spine) and look at the cover and blurb. I won’t buy a book because of its cover, but I might buy one despite its cover if the story and author are good.

  19. That is HOT!!!!!!!!

by Nathalie on November 5th, 2007 at 5:47 pm

  20. now this cover would definitely make me pick up the book lol. But if the blurb lived up to the cover I would be hooked.

by Pamk on November 5th, 2007 at 7:07 pm

  21. Oh dear lord..that is one astonishingly hot and sex-ay cover!! We definately need a ’sweating’ icon…or a flaming one!!!
I have to agree with Paula…I might buy a book if the cover is not attractive, but the story has to hook me. The cover alone is not enough to persuade me to purchase a book.

by Angie T on November 5th, 2007 at 7:53 pm

  22. I would definitely pick up a book if I like their cover - Same if I don’t like the cover, I probably won’t pick it up, I know it’s horrible but covers are so important to catch a reader’s eye and there’s a few I’ve seen that are just horrible, but some are lovely. I love sexy covers! Like your Bound book’s cover - that was what first attracted me to pick it up. I’ve always love Gena Showalter’s bookcovers - they’re just SO amazing.

by Wendy on November 5th, 2007 at 7:55 pm

  23. Sasha to me your cover fits perfect with the book title. The guy is showing that he is Sexy ;) Very sexy at that HeeHee. I think it fits perfect.

  24. I think the cover is just the right amount of show and tell. It gets the message across that this is going to be a hot and sexy read.

  25. I Love THat COver Sasha,Yummy, yummy  Heck,I wouldn’t even mind a cover flat to drool over

  26. Hi Sasha, SEXY DEVIL sure caught my eye!!!
I usually pick a book by the author but I love to look at yummy men on the covers. They can be alone or with a lady,it doesn’t matter.

by Dena on November 6th, 2007 at 4:53 am

  27. OMG what a sexy cover. That’s a really eye catching cover. It just screams pick me up

  28. I couldn’t get the cover to visualize!! I did enjoy reading the synopsis, reviews and other reader’s opinions of the HOT cover. I’m going to reboot and see if I can get a glimpse!!!

by Laurie on November 6th, 2007 at 6:02 am

  29. AHHHH finally got it! Great cover. Nice Bod! I didn’t know guys wore briefs any more! My 3 sons will only wear boxers!!

by Laurie on November 6th, 2007 at 6:28 am

  30. Hot, hot, hot! But the stories sound good too. If they were just non-stop sex marathons, I wouldn’t read them, no matter how pretty those covers are. Sasha, you write some sexy erotic romances, with actual story in them. Keep ‘em coming-I love your books :)

by Stacy ~ on November 6th, 2007 at 6:37 am

  31. Very hot cover. A cover that makes me pick up a book is one that has a hot guy or one that is sensual. I want to read the back blurb and see what the story is about if the cover looks goos.

by Crystal B. on November 6th, 2007 at 10:36 am

  32. Talk about a hot cover! Wow, Makes you wonder what he is doing. LOL. A definite hook to buy a book.
