There’s something about spring that’s so energetic, so joyous. Right now, down in the southern hemisphere, it’s a time of renewal and birth—blossoms, budding vines, unfurling fronds and lambs in the fields.
It’s a season of bluster and enthusiasm, yet it’s pretty damn tempestuous too. In the past few days, we’ve experienced warmer sunshine, promptly followed by gusty winds, thunderstorms and hail.
When I look out my window I can see the blossoms on the plum tree and the tui birds have taken to performing diverolls across the sky in mating pairs. Love is most definitely in the air!

I’m watching the changes day by day as summer approaches. Yet on the other side of the world, it’s autumn and winter is coming closer. When you look out your window, what do you see?
I’ll draw one winner from everyone who comments for my October release, The Apollonides Mistress Scandal.

The Apollonides Mistress Scandal is a book I’d love to read, a revenge-seeking twin! I love books with twins in them, they are hard to find. I see it just came out this month. I’ll have to keep my eyes open for this book. It sounds like it will be a very good book!

I’m looking forward to reading your October release, The Apollonides Mistress Scandal. The cover is beautiful.
When I look out my window I see the wind blowing the leaves off of the trees, the leaves on my pumpkin vines have been bitten by the frost and have turned black and curled and there is frost on the window panes.

The Apollonides Mistress Scandal sounds wonderful!
Since I live high in the mountains when I look out of my windows I see trees with vibrant red, yellow and orange leaves. I see the deer, bears, squrriels and foxes getting ready for winter.

I see the maple tree in the front that has a few leaves that came down but is still very green. You wouldn’t know it was Autumn since today it is humid and in the 80s.

Looking out of my window I see the trees around the house slowly changing color. The leaves are slowly fading to yellow but then turning a warm orange and then vibrant red. Orange is the accent of the garden with the pumpkins ripened on the ground and persimmons dotting the tree. Tomatoes continue to ripen mimicking the leaves of the nearby trees with our small pear shaped yellow tomatoes, cherry sized orange ones, and the large beefy reds. The garden arch is thickly covered in vines, leaves and the purple fruit of Concord grapes. I love the sight of the garden from spring to fall, but it is especially fall that I feel such satisfaction looking at it.

I live in Florida so there is not much of a change outside yet. I am enjoying the cooler temperatures however. My birthday is Monday, October 8th so I am hoping the weather will be nice. Especially, since we will be going out of town.

Looking forward to reading your new book.
I live in the Pacific Northwest and when I look out my window I see the maples in my yard turning red, clouds, wind and a rain shower now and them. The temperature is in the low 50’s.

Tammy, I love twin books, too. Christy, I also thought the cover was fabulous. Thanks, Susan, Teresa, Stacy, Estella…hope you all get a chance to read it.
Wow, what lovely images!
Christy, I can SEE your pumpkin patch–and that reminds me, Halloween isn’t far away. And Little Lamb Lost also has pumpkins…the tomatoes look so tasty, I’m a tomato addict. Love them sliced with a bit of cheese, a basil leaf, and a twist of black pepper, yum! I just spent some time researching wine, so I’m very interested in vines right now! Susan, squirrels and deer…and you have BEARS? How awesome.
Gosh, I hadn’t associated Northern autumns with humidity. Maureen, Lois, Stacy, Estella…enjoy the extended summer. Ours is too short down here!
And Teresa, my son had a teacher from Ohio–she had a wonderful accent, I could listen to her forever.
Cherie, HAPPY BIRTHDAY for Monday.
Do something special just for you and have a fantastic day!

It’s been a strange year for weather. I live in Pa and we should be well into fall but it’s in the 80’s (not that I’m complaining). The leaves are thinking about changing and it’s a little cooler at night. It’s really the perfect weather. My grandfather used to grow his own grapes and made his own wine. Unfortunately I was only a kid so other than a taste at 18 I never really drank it but I would probably love it now.

It is Fall here in Minnesota, but it seems more like Summer today as it is almost 80 degrees and sunny. The leaves on the trees are changing and it is absolutely beautiful driving along the country roads and seeing all these vivid and various colors. I truly enjoy this time of the year and wish it would last longer before winter arrives.

Outside my windows, I see trees with leaves that have started to change color. There are various shades of red, yellow, orange and brown. Quite a few leaves have already fallen from the trees. It is a beautiful day with temperatures in the upper 70’s but just a little bit too much humidty. If I look out the back, I can see all kinds of animal life- crows, squirrels, deer and wild turkeys.

Love that cover….I want to dance with him! lol
I see two evergreen trees with only a few pine cones left on them. The rest have fallen to the ground. A few of the other trees have partially changed color to orange and burnt red. I still see green grass. I see the two little chipmunks that visit quite regularly and a spider crawling on the screen door. The air smells good and temperatures have been a little cooler. I love this time of year!

Hey Tessa, Long time no see. It’s good to have you back. The cover of The Apollonides Mistress Scandal is really one piece of art. It sounds very interesting.
Since I’m a city girl, looking out my window I see a very huge piece of concrete that’s the building next door.

Fall has definately arrived in my neck of the woods. It’s cold (Ok, it’s in the 50s, but it was in the 80s only a couple weeks ago), windy and rainy. Not much fall colors due to all the evergreen trees. Snow has even fallen in the nearby mountains (they were hyping the upcoming ski season on the local morning news).
-
I see app. 7 leaves left on the tree in our yard and quite a few more on the trees
on the boulevard. The lawn was scattered with leaves until dh picked them up.
The weather is close to 0 at night now and the forecast for the next few days is rain or rain mixed with snow. This is in Canada.

Lila, you made my day! Thank you VERY much for the lovely words. Mona, nice to see you too–Mona and Kim W, the guy on the over kind of reminds me of someone, Kurt Russel maybe?
Catslady, that’s hard luck missing out on the experience with your granddad.
Robyn, Jennifer, Lily sorry it’s getting cold–I’m not a winter person. Linda, Nathalie, Shari - sounds like it’s beautiful where you guys are.
You know what? I thought it would be easy to pick one description. But they’re ALL so evocative. So I put all your names in a hat, or rather a baseball cap, and got my son to draw one. Winner is Cherie! Email me your details and I’ll send it off in a couple of days.
