The Music of Your Life

Vivi Anna

I recently added a playlist to myspace page. I named it if Vivi was a soundtrack

Bad Reputation - Joan Jett
I Love Myself Today - Bif Naked
Bye Bye Boyfriend - Fefe Dobson
Pretty Life - Jakalope
Wild Horses - The Sundays
Troy - Sinead O’Connor
You Oughta Know - Alanis Morissette
Bela Lugosi’s Dead - Bauhaus
Flower Duet - Charlotte Church

You can listen to it here.

It’s pretty cool. Has all my favorite angry girl songs that I love now and in the past. Then I really thought about how music has shaped me and how I remember certain events with a song title. Like when Billy Idol’s Rebel Yell was popular I was in high school being my old punk self, punching my fist into the air with Mr. Spiky Haired himself. I had my snarl down to a tee. I was a rather cute little punk rock chick.

I love when authors make soundtracks for their books. Rachel Caine has a soundtrack list in all her Weather Warden books…very cool. I want to make one for my newest book DARK LIES, which comes out next month. Or maybe just do one soundtrack for the whole series, each character can have their own theme song. I know that Jace Jericho’s would be something hard, probably a Metallica song. Tala Channing would likely have something by Amy Winehouse.

How about you? What would be your theme song?

**one lucky commenter will win a copy of DARK LIES**

  3. There’s so many songs I could choose but lately I’ve been listening to Breathe by Breaking benjamin a lot so I’ll choose that one.

I agree with you - I love it when authors make a soundtrack to their books. I like getting all the songs and making a cd with the title of the specific book and author, of course.

I’m going to check all those songs of yours and even possibly make a cd of it.
