Okay, she told me to darnwell start earning my keep, that I’d better be useful as well as ornamental around here or it was no more Fancy Feast and she’d feed me out of a Tupperwear bowl and start buying that cheap three-for-a-buck tuna!
Cheap tuna??? Me!! Where’s my crystal? My china? Didn’t I train her better than this? That bitch! And I’m hungry!
So here I am paws poised at the keyboard instead of snuggled on my memoryfoam mattress with blue silk pillow while The Servant pours over her latest WIP, Hot and Bothered. That’s me right now, hot and bothered, and when she finds that mouse I left under her pillow I’m not going to be the only one in that particular category.
Until today I ruled the Castell house. In fact, until today, I had The Servant pretty well trained. Open the door, shut the door, scoop the litter, new toys every week, bits of steak and brie and salmon…you get the picture. But suddenly I’m second fiddle to something called a deadline!
I’m not taking this lying down! I’m not taking this at all. I’m getting even!! I’ll shed!
Since this writing gig looks like it’s going to be a regular occurrence or I’m going to get pretty hungry around here let me know about your pets and how you spoil them. You know the saying, the only good pet is a spoiled pet and we all know the best pet of all is spelled c-a-t!
And if you have a really good spoiling suggestion I’ll steal a couple copies of The Servant’s lastest book, The Morgue The Merrier, to mail off to you.

Ah…insight into a feline mind. How purrrrfect! We are currently suffering that soul destroying condition called “catlessness” due to living with people who have a severe allergy. Alas! But someday when we can again be blessed, I will hopefully have read several of your posts to be prepared to treat my Meows with the respect deserved.
Spoiling? Hmm…crystal and china are good, but has the Servant ensured you of quality in these items? Sevres and Baccarat are good. You also imply that she may frown upon your capture and play with smaller furry friends…or at least the placing of such in her personal domain. Perhaps if she supplied you with several dozen cashmere knit mouse-shaped toys in a suitable variety of colors and sizes, both of you could be happy.
May the previous training kick in again soon. Vive la decadence!

For a long time when we had dinner there were four of us at the table eating and in two corners of the room were matching chairs upon which our ‘king’ and ‘queen’ (that is our dog and cat) resided. Every night they joined us for our meal and had to have a tiny bit to taste no matter what it was. Then they were satisfied and would eat their own special food which sat in very nice bowls right next to them on their chairs. This was our ritual every evening and even if we were late to the table you can bet our royalty wasn’t…they never missed a meal. This was apparent as our cat weighed 24 pounds and our tiny dog weighed 8. They acted like they barely put up with one another, but where one was the other was always nearby…two true joys to our family.

Our adorable dogs, Guido and Bogie are irresistible. They sleep at the bottom of my bed at night and are as good as gold. Bogie follows Guido everywhere and knows that the sun rises and sets on Guido. Bogie cannot miss out on anything. Guido is oblivious to all of this. When it is dinnertime they sit and wait patiently by their bowls while I give out their special home cooked meals. Delectable and just what they have been anticipating. I coul dnot imagine my home without these wonderful little creatures.

I have two dogs, one parakeet and one bearded lizard. And all are spoiled! My two dogs are given treats it seems all day long, walked all the time and played with almost 24/7. They eat more people food then I do and get the choice seats in the house. Even when it comes to sitting in front of the air conditioning.
My bird is a big baby wanting to be petted all the time, and new seed should be put in his cups aleast once a day or he gets picky and refuses to eat. He also needs his toys in his cage in a certain way or he yells about it and dive-bombs people until he gets his way.
My lizard is really my brother’s but he’s off fighting in Iraq so I am babysitting Sydney. This lizard is very finiky. He can only eat certain sized crickets at certain times of the day. His tank must be a certain temperature or he starts knocking things over and scopping sand all over the place. And he definitely hates being picked up and touched which makes cleaning his tank a chore. Afterward he throws a tamtrum and refuses to eat for a day or two while giving me dirty looks.

I have 6 SPOILED CATS. They all have to have different food each time I feed, fresh water every time I turn around, and at least 3 of them sleep with me.
They sleep on the back of the couch in the sun all day and gather in the kitchen about an hour before feeding toime.
Can you spell—VERY SPOILED?

Can you ask a different question because I don’t have a pet anymore.
My siamese kitty passed away after 21 years. She was a member of the family and was able to have free run of the house and sleep anywhere she chose. She loved to sit by the window and watch what was going on outside. My husband built her a cushioned window seat all of her own so she’d be comfortable. She also would sit with us at dinner on her own seat and get a little plate of food. lol I miss having her around.

Oh, Little Lamb, The Servant’s daughter has allergies too and cannot wait to get back to school and away from me!
All my shedding’s really getting to her…but it’s such a great shade of black and white!
Hi, Shari! I think I’m in loooove! A 24 pound cat is very shapely indeed. Can you send a picture!
Hi, Mauree. What is a cluffy cat bed?? I want one.
Hey, Jenna. Did you say home cooked meals?? The Servent has her nose so deep in this book she forgot where the kitchen is around here. I’m coming over!
Hi, April! Wow, so many animals! I’m coming over to play. A lizzard? Neat!
Hi, Estella. Six cats!!! You are my hero. When I get fed up with the servent I’m heading over to your place. And Pam…I am so NOT heading over to your place. Snake??? Did you say snake??? Yikes!!!!!!!!!!!
And Kim, you and your dh are wonderful! A real cat perch! I’m talking to the servent about that one. I need a perch…actually I need a throne. Yeah, a throne so suits me.
I’ve made a list of all these ways to spoil me! Thanks, everyone! I’ll pick two winners tomorrow for The Morgue the Merrier.

I dont have any pets so really cant answer except to say, give them treats if they are good, pet them a lot and let them cuddle with you if they like to and give them a nice comfy bed with a few nice toys.

I dont have any pets either but I have dog sat before for a friend of the family. They had 4 rottweilers and my fiance and I slept over to take care of them. They weren’t vicious or anything, they were good dogs. Just a bit too wild at times. I loved buying treats for them. I would get them bones, pig’s ears, and I think one of the treats was little sirloin flavored steaks. Well shaped like a steak, not a real one! LOL

At the moment I have 7 inside cats from ages 16 to 4 months (and ferals/strays that are outside). They’re all spoiled. I’ve turned my outside covered porch into a cat sanctuary. One large dog house and various boxes and perches which have rugs and blankets. At the moment there are 5 outside so they all have their own dish and when they tap on the screen they get fed. My oldest cat gets the most attention. I buy every brand of cat food you can imagine and feed her different foods all day long because she never eats two things in a row. I also have to turn on the spigot whenever she needs water. I could go on but someone may turn me in and they’ll be coming with the strait jacket!

Hi, Pat. I like your attitude! If you see a feline on your front porch, it’s me.
Oh, Rachael. I’m running away to your house. The Servent missed my midnight treat!
Hi, Catslady! You are terrific. Thanks for taking care of my friends.

Our baby is a male Apricot poodle weighing in at just under 10 lobs. and named Sam. He loves to be held when I’m on the computer, when travelling, and he lays beside me on the couch or when I’m sitting in a chair watching TV. He follows us around the house and loves to go for car rides. We give him treats and I feed him Cesar with a spoon.

This summer we got two kitties. My father died suddenly and my sister and I decided to adopt these cuties. They are just adorable. They now have the run of the house and know when I am cooking up a storm, since they love my tidbits and there are plenty.

Before I cat passed away this Spring we would spoil him by putting his favorite blanket in the dryer and letting it get all fluffly and warm. Then he would love to curl and cuddle up on it. I miss our precious Ping Pong.

Oooo….I know you can spoil kitty by letting her sleep on the keyboard, your bed, your lap, on your shoulders. Feed her that special food you keep in the cupboard just because! Buy kitty her favorite snacks and when she meows for them, please give her one. Kitty has been so good all week just let her stay a while longer in your favorite chair next to your computer. Also, give her a special cat day in her honor. Now that is one spoiled Kitty!

Hi, Robyn…and Sam! I want to be fed with a spoon. A silver one, of course!!
Howdy, Sabrina. So nice of you to take in two of my cousins. Sounds like they have a pretty sweet deal going with you and your sister. Sorry about your dad. Tough times. I’m thinking of you.
Oh, Christy. A warm blankie. How thoughtful of you. I got to tell My Servant about this! Great idea. Sorry Ping Pong is gone. I’m sure you gave him a really great home.
Holy cow, Michele! My own special day. I love it. National Kitty Day. Great idea. I’m writing George W about this. Thanks!
Hi, Danette! Sea Monkeys are soooo cool but I think I need my own room like your sister’s dog. Yep, I want the living room! Allllll mine!
Thanks for all the great ideas! You all are wonderful pet lovers. I’m coming to visit.
Keep purring.
