Want Trouble?

Sasha White

The lovely Lauren Dane was on vactaion last week, and she took Trouble with her. (You’re a smart woman, Lauren..I hope it helped inspire some Holiday fun.) And she posted her thoughts on the book on her blog. I’m going to cheat, and show them to you here…

“Sasha White’s Trouble: I’m telling you, Sasha needs to send me an ARC of Karl’s story or I’m gonna have to tackle her at RT and I know what she looks and sounds like so she can’t hide from me.

Trouble is the story of Samair and Valentine - two very unlikely people in a very unlikely romance and yet, White has the hand to make it work and she does most ably.

Her characters are vivid and three dimensional, the sex (as always) is smoking hot and Trouble is just an all around fabulously fun read. White gives us real people with jobs, real people working through personal stuff, real people trying to figure out where someone else can fit in their life when they have goals and dreams that take a lot of time and dedication. I love that. Samair is not some withering heroine who gives up everything for her man but she’s smart enough to recognize the fact that true love isn’t something that rolls up every day.

Nicely done, Sasha! (now, about that ARC…”

Isn’t that great?

And Thank You Nicole for this pic!! It’s thrilling to see TROUBLE on a spotlight table. (click on the picture for a larger one if you want)

I’ve noticed at the bookstores here in Alberta, my Berkley Books (Bound, Kink, and Trouble) are usually shelved in Erotica. Even while some other Berkley Heat books are shelved in romance. I think it’s because my covers are a bit edgier than the normal romance cover. However, I also think my covers completely suit my stories and I think they rock. *grin*
But it does make hunting the bookstores for my books fun sometimes.

Then again, when is hunting any books in a bookstore not fun?

I love just wandering around a bookstore, browsing, looking at covers and reading blurbs. Sometimes I go to the bookstore just to inspire myself if I’m struggling with a story. Sometimes I reach for a bottle of tequila -but that’s a different blog post. The other day I went to the gym, it worked well.

What works for you when you need to inspire/motivate yourself?

Today, answer in the comments, and be entered into a draw for a signed copy of Trouble and some promo items. I’ll contact the winner tomorrow!

  1. I usually turn the radio on and listen to music while I am workking, makes the time go by fast and it’s done before I know it.

  2. Hi, how exciting. Just the thought of all those books gives me goosebumps.

    What a sexy cover.

In answer to your question - I need peace and quiet.

  4. Great cover on Trouble.

I also love to browse through bookstores looking at covers and reading those ‘teasers’. I could spend hours just looking through all the books…don’t want to miss anything interesting or exciting.,..right.

I usually motivate myself by constinuing reminding myself of all the things I have to get done before I can relax and do ‘fun’ things and that usually gets me going…especially after doing it a few times as the time gets less and less to get them done. When I do get started I love to have music on in the background to keep me going and inspire me.

  5. I go for a long walk up by the mountains under the clear blue skies and the bright sunshine. This allows me to take in the beauty and clarify my thoughts.

  6. Two things re-charge and inspire me…the beach and music.
I love the ocean, specifically the Gulf coast…hurricanes and all! There is just something about the ocean breeze and the ebb and flow of the waves that soothe and calm me. I do my best thinking and get my best ideas at the beach.
And I cannot go a day without music. The right song can energize you, calm you, or get you into the mood for just about anything! ;-)

  7. What inspires me is a peaceful place and the sense of accomplishment when I can mark something off my list of things to do.

  10. For inspiration, I find a bookstore can be soothing. Also, reading a book that can take me out of this world and into the world of the book is good inspiration.

  11. Losing myself in a good book and being one with the characters is calming for me. A cup of Iced Tea, a book or magazine, soft music in the background and sitting in our Gazebo with the fountain a few feet away is what inspires me.

  17. Usually an interesting book or a good movie inspires me. Love your cover and looking for to the read sounds great!

by Teresa W. on September 4th, 2007 at 4:03 pm

  18. When I need my butt kicked or some serious motivation I call one of my sisters, sometimes even all of them at once on a conference call. They tell it straight, not what you want to hear, and they make me laugh, which always puts me in a good mood and ready to tackle what needs doing.

by Cathy on September 4th, 2007 at 4:17 pm

  19. Anything that helps me to escape the worries of real life, like books, movies, even TV, can allow inspiration to come to me. Sometimes it’s as simple as stopping to appreciate nature - stop and smell the roses.

by Sue A. on September 4th, 2007 at 6:13 pm

  20. Putting on some music to which I can sing and/or dance.

by Linda F on September 4th, 2007 at 6:31 pm

  21. Congrats. Lauren said such wonderful things about your book, I’m positive she sold you a bunch of books. Send her the ARC. LOL

As for inspiration, walking on the treadmill with the Ipod seems to normally get mojo working.

by Patty L. on September 4th, 2007 at 9:15 pm

  22. I know I’m too late for the drawing and that’s okay. I love listening to music - that helps a lot. And walking outside on a gorgeous day, listening to music, is even better. It drowns out the other distractions around me and I can just enjoy the moment and let my mind open up.

by Stacy ~ on September 5th, 2007 at 5:19 am

  23. I get outside and swim or bike. They let me zone out so that I can forget my worries and just be. I also play the guitar.

by Laurie on September 6th, 2007 at 4:14 am

  24. I love being in a bookstore looking at all the books. I swear I could be there for hours. For inspiration I like soft music or some fresh cool air.
