Tuesday Fourteen

Denise A Agnew

Howdy all. This isn’t my first venture into this intriguing phenomena of listing. Only I’m throwing a twist into it…it’s Tuesday Fourteen today. Weird, but hey…let’s be different. I’m telling you fourteen things about me you may not know. I’ve done similar lists to this before, so it may be a repeat for a few of you.

1. I wrote my first short story at fourteen, a sci-fi story called The Wall.
2. I’ve written entire stories based on dreams I’ve had.
3. I recently learned I have French ancestry that I can trace back to the 1400’s.
4. I once spent six months serving on a grand jury (every Friday for six months).
5. My father served as a sheriff’s deputy for twenty-nine years.
6. Some of my favorite programs when I was a teenager included SWAT, Battlestar Gallactica, and Starsky and Hutch.
7. I’m an honorary Army Mountain Ranger. I’d tell you how I got it, but then I’d have ta kill ya.
8. I participate in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life almost every year.
9. My favorite ice cream is chocolate mint.
10. One of my nicknames is Deli…uh, yeah, I have more than one nickname.
11. Some of my favorite television programs these days include Jericho (yeah…I hear they ARE bringing it back), 24, Battlestar Gallactica (new version), Robin Hood (BBC America), Bones, Blood Ties, Eureka, Ghost Hunters and Lost.
12. I’ve lived in Hawaii, Colorado, Arizona, and England.
13. My favorite food is fried shrimp but I also love, love, love popcorn.
14. My favorite city in the world is Edinburgh, Scotland.

Hope you’ve enjoyed these fourteen facts about me. Now, if you can tell me fourteen things about you, I have a deck of Ellora’s Cave playing cards (the new 2007) version, plus a few tiny silly goodies just for you. I’ll pick two random winners!

  6. April, what a great list! I think the point about the pirate in your family is really interesting. How many people can say that? As for the blue eyes in the family…well heck genetics can be interesting, eh? I have an outlaw in my familly back in the 1800’s but I don’t think that is nearly as interesting as a pirate. Did you enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean?

  7. Little Lamb,

Heck, I’ve NEVER been able to do cartwheels. As a kid I was particularly uncoordinated and awkward. Actually, I still am. Never had a great sense of balance, either. I found it many, many years after I was a kid that my body is put together “tightly” as in ligaments and muscles, etc. and because I’m so darned “stiff” among other things, this contributed to the lack of coordination and awkwardness. The sports I did like to play were soccer and tennis. Wasn’t that good at either of them but I did like to play them. One of the reasons why I think I really like archery is that I don’t have to move that much. LOL!!

  8. Lisa, you and I have a lot in common. I wouldn’t say I’m much of a cook, that’s for sure. I hate bugs, too. I failed my first driver’s test at sixteen, so I can SOOOO relate. I was too nervous. I also can’t swim. I’m not particularly scared of the water, but my parents just never encouraged me to learn. So I didn’t. And what red blooded woman doesn’t like great eye candy!!! :)

  9. Cherie, my hubby can relate to the twins thing. Not because he’s a twin. He has twin sisters and triplet sisters. YES! Amazing but true. As for chocolate and peanut butter, I have to admit I like it best in Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. Dang but those thiings are addictive. We like Italian food at our house. We were spoiled when we lived in England. Our two favorite Italian resataurants of all time were located in London and Edinburgh.

  10. Vivi girlfriend!!! Seriously folks, the first chance I had to meet Vivi was this year at the Romantic Times conference in Houston, and it was a pleasure to meet her. As for the Mohawk, wow!!!! Radical. :) I remember going to Dublin back in ‘83 and at that time it was wall to wall leather, chains and mohawks. Growing up in Colorado Springs, and at that time, I’d never seen a mohawk unless it was on TV. LOL!!
