Inspiration

Sasha White

One question that is asked over and over in interviews and chats is “Where do you get your inspiration?” or a variation of that. Normally my answer is “I have no idea, it just comes to me.” But with my April reelase from Aphrodisia, LUSH, I can honestly tell you where it came from.

I first got interested in photography as more than a hobby when I started travelling all over the world, and discovered that pictures did not look like postcards. I took a few courses and learned enough to make my pics looks better. When I started writing erotica, I started discovering more and more erotic photography, and sculptures, and jewelry - and by erotic I dont mean explicit, although yes, some are pretty WOW!

2MenAnyway, my interest in photography peaked again, and I just had to use it in a story. LUSH is a the title of the book, as well as the setting; A fictional art gallery that specializes in erotic art. If you want to see some of the erotic art that inspired my stories, take a look at the LUSH GALLERY on my website.

So, photo’s and art inspires me a lot….what inspires you to do what you do?

  1. I am drawn to connect with people. It sounds kinda hokey, but I love the idea of helping people, and making a difference (hokey, hokey, hokey). In the last 10 years, I’ve worked in jobs where I deal with the public, and though it has it’s bad moments, overall it’s an inspiring thing. Currently I work as a loan officer but previous I worked in the benefits dept for my company and absolutely loved it. I can’t explain it, but it gives me such a sense of personal satisfaction. And, I will admit, I like working in a position where people know who I am LOL. I’m good at remembering details about a person, and it really builds relationships with trust and respect. I deal with a lot of airline people, which to me is a fascinating industry, and I am very happy where I am. I love my people *g*

  4. Stacy, oh so not hokey to inspire to help people. I too like helping people. That’s probably why if I wasnt’ a writer I would’ve been a teacher of some sort.

I draw my inspiration from everything around me. A sound, a mood, a laugh on the wind…it’s all good.

  5. Stacy, I agree, helping people is a great thing!!

I like to think my stories helpe people, even if it’s just to forget about the stress of thie normal life for a few hours. So when I hear that readers enjoyed my stories, it puts a grin on my face. Thank you for telling me, and I hope you like LUSH.

Kids can certainly be inspiring. Good call, Amy!
