I’m not a huge sports fan but I love the Super Bowl. Maybe there’s something about seeing the two best teams in the NFL compete–nah, I know it’s seeing really cute guys compete. I was born in Hialeah, Florida. Do you know where that is? It’s just outside Miami and my parents were HUGE Dolphins fans. So much so that the rumor goes that when my mom came out of labor with my sister in ‘72 (back then ladies you were knocked out during delivery!) the first thing she asked was if the Dolphins won! They did.
I’ve always followed the game but I’m not religious about it until the play-offs. I like to do some internet research on the players and then really pick a team to root for.
From the begining of the play-off season I was hoping for Peyton Manning, Tony Dungy and the Colts to go all the way. And they did with some really remarkable games. But then as I was watching the Bears and the Saints play I started liking the Bears in a way I hadn’t since we’d lived in Chi-town some three years ago.
Why did I start liking the Bears again? I think it was because they are the underdogs. I’m tired of hearing commentators rag on Rex Grossman and I love Brian Urlacher. I’m sorry but that guy is awesome on Defense.
So now I’m torn between wanting Peyton to finally win the big game and seeing the underdog Bears take it. I can’t wait for Sunday.
What about you? Watching the big game or hitting the mall? Rooting for the Colts or the Bears?

I am not a big football fan. I will be rooting for me to win something in the superbowl pool. Mercenary, Huh?

I’m also looking forward to the food at the party we are going to. My husband worked on a SuperBowl commercial one year which was a lot of fun. We recorded it and watched it over and over again, cheering for the commercial.

Lisa–thanks so much! I’m writing a spin-off book to Body Heat right now featuring one of Andi’s brothers–Liam. This book takes place in Vegas and I am having so much fun with the characters!
Not really sports related but I have this hunky picutre of David Beckham that I tore out of a magazine and I’m using him as the physical shell for Liam. It’s a got milk? Ad.

I love football, it is my passion from August until February. I will be cheering for the Colts on Sunday. I am a Cowboys fan for life, however I have a soft spot for the Manning brothers. Ironically, my daughter is a Giants fan and has Eli’s picture on her laptop and says goodnight to him every night. But back to Peyton, I think he is a quarterback that has proven that he has done everything within his power to help get his team to the Superbowl. I don’t want to say that he deserves to win, because Rex deserves to be there too. I feel that the Bears are getting the short end of the stick being the underdogs, but somebody has to be the underdogs. I feel that this game is going to be an exciting and both teams are going to pull out everything they have. I just hope that at the end of the fourth quarter that the Colts are the champions. So I can at least rub it in to my brother who will be cheering for the Bears. GO COLTS!

I love all the commercials that Peyton does especially that one where he has on that bad wig and mustache. It’s so funny.
I think the game is going to be a great one. I can’t wait for Sunday!!!

I”m a baseball fan, but I chose the Bears, only really because I remember vaguely the talk of them those 21 years ago when I was younger and they were in the SB. . . so I guess I’m going for the memories or something. LOL
But Bears for me.
Oh, and besides, they had that cool skit on SNL with “the Bears” repeated plenty of times.

Lois;
I’m not a baseball fan but I love SNL. I do remember the last Bears SB appearance because they did that music video–remember that?! Wasn’t that crazy!
I know this has absolutely nothing to do with the blog but it’s snowing here. I’m in Texas a little north of Dallas. But I’m a Florida girl so snow is still totally cool.

Since my Seahawks didn’t make it, I’m rooting for the Colts. No real reason… just am. Now to see if I actually watch the game. I’m supposed to be shopping with my sister on Sunday afternoon.

Shopping is my favorite hobby. My husband doesn’t like that too much!!
I think either way you’re going to have a great time.

Katherine,
I’m not a football fan but my husband is. I will still watch the Superbowl though. We usually get chicken nuggets from McDonald’s and watch the game. We are rooting for the Colts.

Since I’m originally from Wisconsin (diehard Packer Fan here) I CAN NOT go for the Bears! Even though quarterback, Rex G is a Gator alumni …(where I have two sons attending U of F!) I still CAN NOT go for the Bears.
I thought that the Colts should have won last year!! So I’m hoping that Peyton and his teammates will win it for their great coach Tony D. Tampa Bay gave him the shaft!!

I live in the Northwest and the Seahawks are my team. Between the two though I pick the Colts, I was in a football pool and I picked the Colts everytime,I just liked them for some reason,I’m not a huge football fan and picked my winners based on the animals and colors, lol. I did win twice and the guys were stunned, loved it!! I am a huge baseball fan and can’t wait for the season, only a few more months, yeah.
