Dang! I apologize for my late blog post! Already 2007 is killing me. LOL I have a deadline that’s been slowly eating me alive for the past few weeks.
2006. A great year. A lot of wonderful things happened to me in 2006. My first print book, Hell Kat came out from Kensington Aphrodisia. It’s sequel, Inferno, also came out in December, and it’s getting rave reviews. I couldn’t be happier about that.
2006 was also the year that I got a book deal with Silhouette Nocturne, which has headed me down a slightly different path. And I couldn’t be more thrilled with that.
2006 saw alot of good friends land book contracts for the first time and I’m so thrilled for them as well.
2006 also for me was a great year for books. I read A LOT of great books this past year. I found three new to me authors that I can’t seem to get enough of. I wish they would write faster!! LOL
Some highlight books for me in 2006 in no particular order:
Moon Called - Patricia Briggs
Watchers in the Night - Jenna Black
Rogue Angel series - Alex Archer
Weather Warden Series - Rachel Caine
A Fistful of Charms - Kim Harrison
Crimson City series - various authors
Working for the Devil - Lilith Saintcrow
Dead Man Rising - Lilith Saintcrow
A Hunger Like No Other - Kresley Cole
Wolf at the Door - Christine Warren
Lover Eternal - JR Ward
Awaken Me Darkly - Gena Showalter
Jewel of Atlantis - Gena Showalter
Warprize - Elizabeth Vaughn
The Turning - Jennifer Armintrout
There are more, but for me those stood out in my mind as superior products. I love to read so to find so many wonderful stories is a blessing. And I can’t wait for more wonderful stories in 2007.
In fact, I’ve already started my TBR pile!!
What were your 2006 reading highlights?
-
Wow! All those books that you mentioned are all the ones I have on my TBR pile. It looks like I need to get busy reading. I did read Working for the Devil but haven’t gotten to read the sequel yet. I really enjoyed reading “Dark Protector” by Alexis Morgan. It is a very good paranormal romance. I also have a copy of Inferno but haven’t read it yet. Do I need to read Hell Kat before I read Inferno? Is so, then I’ll have to see if the bookstore can order me a copy. 2006 was a great year but I know there will be lots of wonderful books for this year. I think I need a 12-step program for readers. I just can’t stop buying more than I can read.

Janet, you don’t need to read Hell Kat to fully enjoy Inferno. At least, I certainly didn’ write it that way! LOL You might enjoyit MORE if you have read Hell Kat.
I’ve heard good things aobut Alexis Morgan’s books…looks like I’ll have to pick her up too.
I have an obscene TBR pile. I too can’t stop buying books. There has just been so many good ones, that I buy them all in a rush, then never have time to read them all, then I have to go out and buy the next batch.

I’m obsessed with buying more books despite a big TBR same as you, Vivi, lol.
I’ve read or have in my TBR all but 3 of your list and almost all on Danny’s. Looks like we all have very similar tastes, and I’ve always loved your books from the first story you wrote.
I’m especially liking Elizabeth Vaughan’s series as I read a lot of historicals in addition to paranormals and it has a medieval feel to it, and discovered Susan Lyons (Hot in Here), a favorite contemp for the year. Besides most of these paranormals, I have some historicals high on my list for the years:
Lord Perfect by Loretta Chase.
Simply Love by Mary Balogh
One Forbidden Evening by Jo Goodman
Beauty and the Spy by Julie Anne Long
