I love a good series. When I find a great character in an amazing world there’s nothing better than knowing that I can visit them again and again. I get a giddy feeling inside when I find a brand new series to sink my teeth into.
Now for me, a series has to have three things for me to really engage.
1. a great main character - I perfer mine, kick-butt, flawed and tough as nails
2. a rich detailed world - I perfer paranormal worlds where nothing is what it seems
3. lots of action, action, action
Here are some series that I LOVE.
Rachel Caine’s Weather Warden series - reason: Love the main characters Joanne and David, love the world where Dijinns exist
Kim Harrison’s The Hollows series - reason: Love the main characters Rachel, and Jinx, love the hijinks they get into
JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood - reason: love the Brothers! love the Brothers! Zsadist is my boy!
Lillith Saintcrow’s Dante Valentine’s series - reason: Love Dante, and the demon world
Crimson City series - reason: love the world created
I bring up series, because my book INFERNO is coming out at the end of November. And it is the sequel to Hell Kat. Now, I’ve already had readers who got ARC’s email me and ask if there will be more stories. And now that I’m thinking about it…I’d love to write another story or two set in this world. I love the characters, especially the new one I introduce in Inferno. His name is Onyx. And I’m thinking he needs a story of his own….

Why do you likes book series? Or maybe you don’t. Tell me either way.
Oh, and do you have any recommendations for me? I’m always on the look out for something else to devour.

Stephanie Plum, and Alison Kent’s SG5 series.
There are more, but I don’t want to overwhelm you! :P

One author who I really enjoy is Kelley Armstrong. She has a couple of series. One series starts off with Dime Store Magic which our book club enjoyed. The other is her werewolf series which I believe starts with a book titled Bitten. I haven’t read that one yet but I enjoyed her magic series with the witches. I also enjoy Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Darkhunters. Yummy! Also, Kresley Cole has a new series. The first book is A Hunger Like No Other which is another awesome book. It’s a paranormal romance with vampires. I only recently started liking trilogies. I guess when the books are really good, you don’t mind buying the others.

I love series books, as long as each book can stand alone.

I love a series because if a book is good, only one is never enough.

Series/connected books are the best. I think I love them because I hate when a story finally ends, I want it to continue and find out what happens next, and in a series sometimes you get that when the previous H and h show up in the next book.
Series I love:
Lori Foster (any of her series, Visitation, Buckthorn, SBF)
Christine Warren’s Other books
Suzanne Brockmann’s SEAL Team 10 and Troubleshooters
Sherrilyn Kenyon (of course)
J.R. Ward’s Brotherhood books
Lora Leigh’s Breed series

I like series books because I like to learn more about the secondary characters that are introduced in the story. Also if the setting is unusual or interesting it’s a great way to add to the story.
A few series I loved or are enjoying are;
Friarsgate Inheritence by Bertrice Small
The World of Hetar series also by Bertrice
Highlander series[which I learned will be continueing, yeah]by Janet Chapman
The Drake sisters & Dark series by Christine Feehan
The Dundee series by Brenda Novak and
The Princes of the Outback by Bronwyn Jameson

I really like book series because when I finish a book,I would really wish that it just continue because I am not ready to let go of the characters yet.
