The Fall Television season will start soon, and I’m so excited. Some of my old favorites are coming back.
I love summer. Warm weather, lots of outside activities, a chance to do things outside the house. For a writer, that’s heaven. In my opinion it’s the absolute best time of year. The only thing I dislike about summer are the reruns on t.v.. The one thing I love about Fall is the return of new episodes of my favorite tv shows. I’m a huge fan of CSI and CSI Miami. I adore Grey’s Anatomy and I can’t seem to get enough of American Idol. One of the new shows I fell in love with last season was Big Love on HBO. The other good thing about the Fall television season is the premier of new shows—the chance to fall in love with something brand new—something I’ve never seen before. There are quite a few new shows debuting this Fall that I’m anxious to see. I hope they’re as good as they look!
Old favorites and new beginnings—kind of like books. I felt the same way when I preordered several upcoming books recently. Nora Roberts is starting a new trilogy, beginning with Morrigan’s Cross and I’m very excited, so I had to order that. She’s definitely an old favorite. I’ve been reading her for years. Nalini Singh’s Slave to Sensation releases in September, her mainstream debut. It’s getting a ton of buzz and I’m anxious to read it.
There’s something so incredibly satisfying about reading old favorites—authors I’ve trusted to deliver time and time again, without fail. They’re like my favorite T.V. shows. I know they won’t disappoint. Then again, there’s nothing more exciting than finding a new author, just like the thrill of finding a new TV show.
Then again, if I keep finding new authors to read and new television shows to watch, I might never make my book deadlines. Ack!
So tell me, what are some of your old favorites, and what are some new beginnings you’re anxious to try out? Your choice, either television or books?
I’ll choose a random post to win their choice of any print book in my backlist.

I’m not much of a t.v. watcher, so I’ll go with books.
Old favorites are Suz Brockmann, Judith McNaught and Lisa Kleypas. In fact I’m currently re-reading LK”s “Where Dreams Begin”. It’s funny, I find I don’t re-read too many of my newer books.
New beginnings are going to include JR Ward, and Eloisa James.

My favorite authors have always been Johanna Lindsey, Nora Roberts and Jude Devereaux. Lately, I’ve been getting into paranormal romances. Some of my new favorites are Robin Popp, Kerrelyn Sparks, Lori Handeland, J.R. Ward and C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamp. As for shows, I’m waiting for Gilmore Girls to start up again. I try not to watch too many shows because once my son goes to bed, I have to choose between tv or reading and there’s no contest. Reading wins hands down. Jaci, I know that I have some of your books. I just have so many shelves full of Ellora’s Cave that I don’t know all I have off hand.
