Bedded by the Desert King… and the desert king in question, Sheikh Shahin of Kaddara, has a guilty secret…
Of course it’s a lot more serious than mine, because mine has to do with food- puddings, to be exact.
I adore pudding and have devoted a large part of my Blog over recent time to the praise of all that is sweet, sticky- and supposedy bad for us.
My guilt goes deep. Food on the table is a privilege, not a right, my grandmother used to tell me, and therefore you eat up every scrap before you have your pudding… (she stopped just short of heating up any uneaten food on my plate for breakfast the next day, though I did live in fear that she might!)
Trouble is, by the time I got through the meal there was never any room in my tum for pudding.
This happened to me again recently when I went to eat at a fabulous restuarant with some chums, and so I have decided that next time I go I’m just going to eat pudding, and nothing else!
What guilty secrets do you have that you’d like to share with us?
Come on, ladies, don’t be shy!!!
Can’t wait to chat with you and share those guilty secrets- and there will be a prize for our winner, who will be picked out entirely at random.
Speak soon!
Love to all, and happy reading everyone!

My guilty secret is that I am often reading when I should be doing housework. I make deals with myself - if I read one chapter then I must clean the bathroom and then many chapters later I realize that I’m running out of time.

That is certainly understandable, Maureen. Hmm. Reading or cleaning???
Well my guilty pleasure has to do with Carvel ice cream. On Wednesdays, we have buy one get one free - Sundaes. My husband works nites most times so several times, I will go buy two hot fudge sundaes - eat one and hide the other. I know it is terrible but he should really be watching his weight; not that I should be eating hot fudge sundaes either. After eating it, I say I wont do it again next week but over the summer I have been doing it several times. Last time however, I did give him the other one.

Potato chips are my guilty secret. I have taught my children the joys of eating fruits and vegetables and I love those things too. We tend to eat healthily but I have never been able to rid myself of a weakness for potato chips.

My guilty secret is that I love Sara Lee strawberry cheesecake ice cream. The only time I get to enjoy it is when my 2 1/2 year old son is sleeping. I feel bad about not sharing it with him but I feel like it’s my time to relax and have some quiet time to myself.
-
Little Lamb, are you and I related, LOL. My guilty secret is plain potato chips
with Dill Pickle dip. I can eat them most any time and do. If I have a terrible headache I even treat myself to the above because I need some comfort food.

My guilty secret is saying something takes me longer than it really does to do. I do this so I have more free time to myself for the things I want to do. To have some quiet time, reading, crocheting, or working on my bead work.

I’m loving these answers, ladies. Only trouble is, they’re making me want more of my guilty secret- Today it’s just finishing that box of chocs… and I never eat chocolate ;-)

Hi Danny, great to see you here, and hi to everyone else too, and thank you so much for sharing.
I just finished my chocs (that I don’t eat) and now it’s bedtime here in the UK, but I’m going to keep this open to give you lots of chances- and then mid-week, I’m going to choose a winner completely at random.
Back tomorrow for more guilty secrets…

Old movies are my guilty secret. Well, probably just watching movies in general.
Especially classics, though. Casablanca, Gone with the Wind, and It Happened One Night are a few of my favorites.

My guilty secret is reading. It’s my reward to myself at the end of the day. After reading, I will treat myself to graham crackers with peanut butter and some milk. Yummy comfort food.

I feel guilty when I sit and vege out in the sunshine and just read and enjoy the fresh air instead of doing the housework that always is there to do.

I feel guilty when I just indulge in a day of shopping strictly for myself especially when I feel that I could do something else more productive but not as much fun.

My guilty little secret is Mr.Goodbar candy bars. I keep a stash of them with a few others mixed in at my computer so I don’t have to waste the energy to go get one while surfing the net and reading my books. I just reason with myself that I spend enough time up chasing my 3 boys and i need to save the energy for more of that. Hey, it keeps me satisfied.

Instead of devoting time to the important tasks at hand, such as cleaning out closets and household duties I sit back with a good book and just ignore the work.

Reading, chocolate and ice cream are actually addictions for me and not a secret in my family. So I guess my guilty secret is that I’d rather relax and stay home than get together with friends at a bar or restaurant… I like going to other’s homes but I don’t like the lack of privacy and the noise of a public place.

My guilty secret is sneaking in new books that I buy. My husband doesn’t stop me from buying them but he thinks I’m crazy because I have so many so sometimes I just sneak them into the house. Once I put them away, he doesn’t know I’ve bought more.

I just love to forget about the mundane and boring housework which awaits and instead reward myself with an entire day of reading my favorite books and sipping my favorite tea.

So many of these ‘guilty secrets’ make me smile. Sneaking books ino the house, Carol? Now that’s something I know all about! I especially break out into a sweat if my husband comes home early when I’m expecting a delivery from Amazon!
Peace and quiet… Yep, that is one heck of a guilty secret once you become a mother!
And Angie, old movies… my son gave me a boxed set of Fred Astaire movies for Christmas- an inspired gift, and one which is guaranteed to bring a smile to my face whenever I play one.
So may brilliant guilty secrets here- I’m loving this topic, keep them coming ladies!

Hey, Alissa, congratulations! Number 26 came out of our ‘hat’ today, so that’s you!
Do please send your snail mail details to Lee AT SusanStephensContests@gmail.com
and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
I have a selection box of herb teas in which I indulge all day (I had to learn not to over-indulge in the detox, or they have some dramatic results!! Nuff said!)
Thank you everyone for joining in and please do come back again on September 14th when there will be another chance to chat and win a prize…
Remind me to tell you about my cheesecake experience then- and also need to know more about that ice cream maker Sue A… perhaps we should have a recipe swop session???
Anyway, once again, thank you all for making this such fun.
Love and happy reading everyone!
