Julia Justiss began writing plot ideas for Nancy Drew mysteries in the back of her third grade spiral and has been writing ever since. While trying and discarding several career possibilities, she continued to jot down short stories and poetry, until one day she decided maybe WRITING was what she was meant to do.
After a college friend introduced her to Georgette Heyer, she discovered what she was meant to write. Marriage and children intervened, but eventually she found RWA and penned a second Regency novel that won a Golden Heart and became her first published book, The Wedding Gamble. Since then, she has written twelve more Regency novels and three novellas, along the way winning or finalling for such awards as Romantic Times Best First Historical, the Golden Quill, the National Reader’s Choice, Romance Readers Anonymous Favorite Historical Romance of the Year and All About Romance Reviewer’s Choice Favorite Historical Romance of the year. She lives and gardens in Northeast Texas with her husband, two dogs, and occasionally visiting college children, while balancing a day job as a high school French teacher with her first love—creating stories.
